The Dr. Samuel G. Brooks Guild was formed by several Anacortes women in 1939, with a desire to raise funds for the hospital to ensure the policy of treating all children regardless of a family's ability to pay. Through the years, guild members continued that commitment.
In 2013, the Dr. Brooks Guild ranked 6th in volunteer hours of the hospital's 450 guilds, reporting nearly 5,000 hours. The IRS considers a volunteer hour to be valued at approximately $20/hour. In addition, fundraising is ongoing with the annual Home and Boat Tour the largest event.
