Dr. Samuel G. Brooks Guild
About our Guild
The Dr. Samuel G. Brooks Guild of Anacortes, WA. was founded in 1939 by local women who wished to help children in need of medical care. Our guild is a proud member of Seattle Children's Guild Association, a non-profit organization with almost 500 guilds and 5,000 members. It is the largest all-volunteer fundraising network for any hospital in the nation.
Our guild's mission is to help Seattle Children's fulfill its promise that all children in our region receive world-class healthcare regardless of a family's ability to pay. In 2022, Seattle Children's provided care for 3,797 children from Skagit County. Over $5.9 M of Uncompensated Care was provided. Fundraising projects include the annual Seattle Children's Purchase a Miracle program, our annual Parking Lot "Boot" Sale, and various handicrafts. We are also Research Champions, contributing to Seattle Children's Research. Social activities include the annual Seattle Children's Guild Association meeting, the annual Skagit County Guild's meeting, a summer picnic, Christmas party, and special guest speakers.
We are a dedicated group that works hard to support Seattle Children's mission. Our monthly lunchtime meeting is the third Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m., which is held at the Anacortes Lutheran Church, 2100 'O' Avenue, Anacortes. A catered lunch is available prior to our meeting at 12:30. Guests are always welcome!
