About Our Guild
The Dr. Samuel G. Brooks Guild of Anacortes, WA. was founded in 1939 by local women who wished to help children in need of medical care. Our guild is a proud member of Seattle Children's Guild Association, a non-profit organization with almost 500 groups and 7,000 members. It is the largest all-volunteer fundraising network for any hospital in the nation.
Our guild's mission is to help Seattle Children's fulfill its promise that all children in our region receive world-class healthcare regardless of a family's ability to pay. In 2011, Seattle Children's provided care for 1,973 kids from Skagit County alone. Over $3.2M of that was Uncompensated or Under-Compensated care.
The major fund raising project for our guild is the Annual Home and Boat Tour held on the third Sunday in September. Other fund raising projects include the annual Seattle Children's Calendar drive, the Purchase a Miracle program, broom sales, Burl Ives' CD's, various handicrafts, and a raffle during the Home and Boat Tour. Social activities include the annual Seattle Children's Guild Association meeting, summer picnic, Christmas party, and special guest speakers.
We are a dedicated group that works hard to support Seattle Children's mission. Our monthly lunchtime meeting is the third Thursday. Guests are always welcome!
Please contact a guild member should your group be interested in a presentation to learn more of Seattle Children's and the
